In the General Training Writing Task 1, candidates are required to compose a letter based on a given situation. This task assesses the candidate’s ability to communicate effectively in written English in everyday contexts. The scoring for this task is based on four main criteria, each of which evaluates different aspects of the writing. Each criterion is scored out of 9, and the final score for Task 1 is the average of these four scores.
