The Speaking test is designed to assess your ability to develop ideas and speak at length. Giving short, abrupt answers won’t demonstrate your fluency or range of vocabulary. Instead, aim for longer responses, even if the question seems simple.

 How to Practice:

  • Elaborate on your answers: For every question, try to expand by giving reasons, examples, and additional details. For example, if asked about your favorite hobby, don’t just say, “I like reading.” Instead, explain why, how often, and what kind of books you enjoy.

Example:

  1. Short answer: “I like reading.”
    1. Extended answer: “I really enjoy reading, especially historical novels because they allow me to immerse myself in different time periods. I usually read for about an hour every evening before bed.”
  • Practice speaking for 1-2 minutes: In Part 2 of the test, you will need to speak uninterrupted for up to two minutes. Practicing this skill will help you stay within the time limit while also showing depth in your answers.
